The Men Who Stare at Goats

NaBloPoMo Day 9

Just the title of the movie made me giggle just a bit.  The movie itself was bizarre and funny, and I was pleasantly surprised that George Clooney did a good job.  I don’t know why I’m always surprised when Clooney does a good job at acting.  It could just be the memories of his kind-of-screwup, slightly helpless Doug Ross on ER.  Ewan MacGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey were, as usual, entertaining and convincing… and in Spacey’s case, just a tad more than a little creepy.

I’m hesitant to go see this one. It reminds me of Burn After Reading. That was too twisted for me. And it had an amzing cast as well.

It wasn’t quite as twisted as Burn After Reading, but the Spousal Unit did mention BAR in the same conversation as Goats. If bizarre and surreal movies are not your thing, it’s best to skip this one.
